Biography
Nikki Amuka-Bird is a British actress born in Delta State, Nigeria, and raised in England and Antigua. She trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and began her career in theatre with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Amuka-Bird built a strong stage portfolio, performing in classic and contemporary productions including Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Welcome to Thebes at major venues such as the National Theatre and Bristol Old Vic. On screen, she has appeared in dramatic and genre work across film and television, with credits including The Personal History of David Copperfield, Old, Avenue 5, Citadel and BBC’s NW, for which she received a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress. She also stars in the 2025 drama I, Jack Wright and continues to take diverse roles in UK and international projects. Amuka-Bird is known for her range and depth in both stage and screen performances.
