Waliu Fagbemi is a rare figure in Nollywood who wields significant power behind the camera while remaining a recognizable face in front of it. He initially set out to be a musician but transitioned to acting after witnessing a performance at the PEFTI Film Institute. He began acting professionally around 2012, gaining early recognition for his role as "Enu Lee" in the pilot of the hit comedy series Jenifa's Diary. His career took a major shift during the 2020 lockdowns when he pivoted into talent management and casting. Today, he is the founder of a platform designed to connect filmmakers with talent, emphasizing fair pay and professional treatment for young actors. He is known for advocating that Nollywood should move away from "clout-based casting" in favor of skill and artistic merit.
