Biography

Andy Jurgensen is an Academy Award-nominated editor who has become a vital part of Paul Thomas Anderson's "creative family." He was introduced to the film world early on by his aunt and uncle, who were archivists at the Motion Picture Academy. Jurgensen’s path to the editor’s chair was a decade-long journey within PTA's camp, starting as a post-production assistant on Inherent Vice (2014). After serving as an associate editor on Phantom Thread (2017) and editing several music videos for the band HAIM and Radiohead, Jurgensen was promoted to lead editor on Licorice Pizza (2021). In 2025, he reached a career pinnacle with the action-thriller One Battle After Another. His work on the film, particularly the complex, high-speed VistaVision car chases, earned him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing in early 2026.
