Renate Reinsve is a leading Norwegian actress who became a global sensation after her breakout performance in Joachim Trier's The Worst Person in the World (2021). Her journey in film began with a single line in Trier's Oslo, August 31st (2011), but she was nearly ready to quit acting to become a carpenter before landing her career-defining lead role. In 2025, she reunited with Trier and Eskil Vogt for Sentimental Value, playing Nora Borg, a stage actress dealing with the return of her estranged father. Her performance dominated the 2025–2026 awards circuit, winning her Best European Actress at the European Film Awards and earning her a 2026 Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
